Treatment

This drama is set in the future where the worlds population has gone out of control due to great health care. So in retaliation to this the world leaders have banned fruits and vegetables and all healthy activities, so some individuals began to deal fruit and vegetables and hold underground bike races.

The beginning of the drama starts with a bike race with Hanzo taking part in the race whilst Ceasar makes a bet against The Colonel. Poorruranghi is just observing the race. Hanzo loses the race meaning Ceasar loses the bet and they owe The Colonel £50. The Colonel then takes pooruranghi as a deposit until Hanzo and Ceasar can come up with the money

Hanzo and Ceasar desperately look for a way to find the money they owe The Colonel, when Hanzo suggests they turn to Domino, the arch enemy of The Colonel. Domino suggests that they steal fruits and vegetables from The Colonels secret base, sell them and use the money to pay him back. So Domino, Hanzo and Ceasar devise a plan and steal the stash. Suddenly as they are escaping Domino turns on them, points his nerf gun and tells them to move on.

It is now deadline day and The Colonel is hosting another race. Hanzo and Ceasar decide that they will re-negotiate for a second race, Poorruranghi's life for their life time service. They call The Colonel and he agrees to this. Hanzo wins the race but The colonel refuses to hand Poorruranghi over. Then suddenly Domino appears and shoots The Colonel with his nerf gun because the vegetables were out of date. Domino lets the three go and they run off taking their bikes as they hear sirens heading towards them.

Script

Voice over: The year is 2016. The global population has reached high levels and countries are over crowded. Governments have no choice but too outlaw healthy food to decrease life expectancy. Fruits, vegetables sports and anything healthy has been banned. Only the damned seek their 5 a day and take part in illegal underground sport events.

A crowd has gathered, an illegal bike race is beginning. HANZO(Daniel) a timid bike racer is on the starting line waiting anxiously. CEASAR(Kamiul) a talkative loud mouthed gambler is walking up to the underground boss THE COLONEL (Muddassir). And finally POORRURANGHI, the one that never talks is sitting on the side taking in the exciting atmosphere.

Ceasar: Hey big guy wanna make a bet.

The Colonel: (Grunt) Ahh, ceasar my old friend.... I see you want to play with the big boys now.

Ceasar: No I wanna play with the fat one.

The Colonel: Insolent brat, you need to learn your place boy.

Ceasar: I have the best racer, he never looses.

The Colonel: (Smirk) Big mouthed as usual.

Ceasar: So how bout it £20.

The Colonel: (Laughs) £20 very funny.........(straight face) £50.

Ceasar: £20.

The Colonel: £50.

Ceasar: £20.

The Colonel: £50.

Ceasar: £20.

The Colonel: £20.

Ceasar: £50!!!!!!

The Colonel: Alright good call, it's a deal.

Ceasar: Wait, what.......Dammit!!!

The Colonel: (laughs) Alright Daffy. Turns and points !JAMES(Gift) your up.

Ceasar: Walking away. You ain't gonna have enough money for them buckets after this.

 Ceasar heads over to Hanzo.

Hanzo: (Curiously) What were you and The Colonel jus talking bout.

Ceasar: Heh heh, err nothing you jus worry bout the race.

The racers all line up. !James stares over at Hanzo who is looking straight forward.

Race starter: Okay listen up i'm only gonna say this once......you race around the block once. Rule number one, there are no rules. Rule number two, no pushing.

Racers look at each other with a confused look.

Race starter: ......now READY! SET! GOOO!!!

The race starts of with Hanzo leading ahead. As he goes round the second bend, he finds himself neck and neck with !James. They both start to peddle faster. The finish line is in sight, !james starts to move slowly ahead.

Ceasar: Pedal faster.............NOOOOOOOO!!!!!he shouts as he sees !James cross the finish line (in slow motion).

The Colonel: (Laughing in slow motion).

He is followed by the disappointed Hanzo. Ceasar is now sweating and scared, he has no money and The Colonel is a man to be feared. The Colonel approaches holding a box of fried chicken.

The Colonel: Well that was certainly entertaining, now the payment.

Ceasar: "Well you see...... I left it at home...and...."

The Colonel: Tapping Ceasar on the cheek repeatedly. Ceasar, Ceasar, Ceasar, your not trying to pull a fast one are you?....now stop fooling around and pay up, I got other business to attend to.

Ceasar: What happened was....... well basically...uh...my mum needed the rent money...and.....i ain't got the money.

The Colonel: What am I going to with you?.......tell you what, i'm feeling a bit generous today. You see i'm hosting another race in a few days, you have until then to pay me. But for now i'm taking a little deposit...... your friend over there He points at Poorruranghi. Oh don't worry you can have him back once you make payment".

The Colonel clicks his finger and his men grab Poorruranghi. As he is being dragged away, Ceasar is on his knees.

Ceasar: Don't worry, i'll save you.......I SWEAR ON MY LIFE!!!.

The confused Poorruranghi is taken to The Colonels secret apartment (that everyone knows about) and is thrown into a small room. Pooruranghi stays calm as the room door is locked.

The next day Ceasar and Hanzo are walking down a street talking about the race.

Hanzo: Ahh i almost won the race, this close you know.

Ceaser finally decides tells Hanzo about the bet and the situation theyre now in.

Ceasar: (Worried look) Errm, i've done something bad....promise you won't get angry.

Hanzo: (Confused look) Errm..... i promise.

Ceasar: (Sigh) Alright.... (talk fast) I made a bet with the colonel that you'd win the race and now we owe him a shit-load of money and...... you lost the race soooo really its your fault so HA!!!

Hanzo now angry holds his friend to the wall and starts shouting at him.

Hanzo: What you bet on the race!!!. why did you say my name? You and your gambling problems, man my mother told me you were bad.

Ceasar: Forget that, the colonels gonna kill us.

The two, penniless, look at each other and start to cry and hug, then Hanzo pushes back.

Hanzo: I got an idea! I know a guy who knows a guy, who's brothers friends, fathers in laws, nieces boyfriends, mothers, uncles son. Who owes me a favour......

Ceasar: Who?

Help was needed and only one person knew how to deal with the problem at hand. Hanzo's old assosiate and The Colonels archenemy.

Hanzo: DOMINO (Shaukat).

Ceasar: Pointing behind Hanzo GASP!.

A hooded man stands across the street leaning on a fence.

Domino: Did somebody say my name.

Over the secret apartment Pooruranghi is sitting in the room bouncing a ball on the wall (bored and day dreaming).

Ceasar and Hanzo are now standing in the famous lair of Domino (a.k.a his mums attic). They explain the problem.

Hanzo: ........And you see it's all because of this fool.

Domino already has it planned out. He gives them each a look in the eye The Colonel is the biggest underground fruit and vegetable dealer. He earns his fortunes in the black market and keeps his stash in the not so secret base. I.....we are going to be the ones that steal that stash, then you can free your friend with the money after we sell the goods. (They agree and start to make preparations).

A tune is playing and pooruranghi is in a trance. He start pretending to play some drums to Phil Collins In The Air Tonight.

Synopsis

Target Audience

This story is aimed towards 16 and 17 year olds, since it is both made by and includes teenagers. We hope the audience will walk away feeling that they can look at many of the serious and depressive situations of the world and laugh at it.

Character description

The Colonel: A overweight middle aged man (45-55) with a history of mental health problems. He holds a blatant disregard for rules and has a distinct lack of human compassion; the Colonel's pychopathic nature has allowed him to become a big underground boss who runs illegal bike races, as well as other illegal money making activities. 

Ceasar- An arrogant, big mouthed, trouble maker that has a gambling problem.

Hanzo- A young racer who's goal is to be the best.

Domino- The arch enemy of The Colonel. 

Pooruranghi- A quiet character who is usually day dreaming.

!James- The Colonels best racer.

Budget

We will need fruit and vegetables. This could be bought in packs to minimize expenses, but we are looking at around £5. Bikes, we plan to use our own. As for locations it's either on the street, own homes or on school grounds. Clothing and props will all come from what we already own and actors will include either ourselves or fellow students who are willing to participate.

Risks and dangers

Actors could fall off the bikes. This could be caused by cars, people or other obstacles. The likelihood of this happening is rather high. Possible injuries could include broken bones, bruises and cuts. We will make precautions that there is nothing on the road/track/pavement.

The weather is probably the biggest issue. The likelihood that rain or just simply it being a rather dark day is highly possible since recent weather has not been very good. Possible injuries could be caused by collision or slip and result in broken bones, bruises, cuts and worst case death.
